One of the greatest gifts we have as Christians, is the ability and command to encourage each other.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
-1 Thessalonians 5:8
We have a great hope and internal joy that stems from the knowledge of Christ living in us. With that knowledge, we have peace deep within and we are able to show others that peace and joy, by being the hands and feet of Christ, and encouraging those around us.
Whether its at work, at school, at home, in line at the coffee shop or grocery store, there is always an opportunity to show the love of Christ.
Today I thought I would share 15 ways to show kindness, and to encourage the hearts of those around you, to inspire them, and to show them they matter.
1. Leave an encouragement note, such as the ones from Mary and Martha’s Encouragement Note
Pack, in random places for others to find. Such as on nightstands, in lunch boxes, or on the steering

2. Tell the people you love in your life, that you love them. We all need to hear we are loved.
3. Rake leaves for an elderly neighbor, return their garbage can to their house after pickup, ask if their dog needs to be walked.
4. Offer an additional word of thanks to the grocery store clerk, the waitress, or barista.
5. Use one of Mary and Martha’s Hello Hope Notecards, and send someone a handwritten note, telling them how thankful you are to know them, and to wish them a good day.
6. Anonymously send coffee or grocery gift cards to friends.
7. Offer to watch the young couples you know well children. So, they can go on a date, or complete a home project.
8. Be ready to listen when someone wants and needs to talk.
9. Smile as you pass people.
10. Give sincere compliments.
11. Write down Bible verses you think a friend might need to hear, and send them to them in a text, or on their social media accounts.
12. Ask if someone needs prayer and take the time to actually pray for them.
13. Complete a task normally done by those in your home, just because.
14. Pay for the person in line behind you coffee, or a meal.
15. Leave a treat in the mailbox for your carrier.
